Frank Hirons is the Bottles surgeon and Lori Hirons is the Glass Gal that lead the effort behind Bottles Regimagined. Began in 2015 as a way to creatively repurpose used liquor bottles, restaurants and other businesses had no use for them. When asked what they did with them?
The answer was always the same:
“we throw them away.”
The US Virgin Islands doesn’t recycle because it is cost prohibitive, so most garbage goes into our landfill.
St. Croix is home to two rum factories: Cruzan Rum and Captain Morgan – so locals and visitors alike consume and discard an untold number of liquor bottles each year.
After some experimentation, they decided there was a viable business opportunity in taking these bottles and creating beautiful, upcycled drinking glasses and more from them. Bottles Reimagined was born.
Frank and I began having conversations with Judi and Jeff in November of 2016 and saw parallels in our business skills and personalities and thought this would be a good fit for us. So, in January of 2017, we bought the business from them.
We are going to continue the same quality standards that they have set and while the focus is on using the Cruzan Rum bottles, we are also creating glasses from Grey Goose, Skyy, and other assorted liquor bottles. We will constantly be reviewing the line to make sure that we are bringing you the best we can create and that includes new and different scents for our candles as well as adding color!
So, take a look at what we have to offer and when you’re finished browsing our site, plan a trip to St. Croix so you can purchase these unique collectibles in person!
